Oppo to launch selfie-centric F3, Smartphone

ELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Oppois all set to launch two new smartphones. Dubbed F3 and F3 Plus, the promotional banners for the two unannounced smartphones have gone up in Philippines. Both F3 and F3 Plus will be selfie-focused smartphones, with the latter expected to have dual front-facing cameras.

Oppo F3 and F3 Plus are likely to have a full metal unibody, with the rear panel's design resembling that of the company's F1 handset. The rear camera is located on the top left corner, along with the LED flash.

As per rumoured specifications, Oppo F3 will come with a 5.5-inch HD display of 720x1280 pixel resolution. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to have 32GB of internal storage and a 20MP selfie camera.

On the other hand, Oppo F3 Plus will have a 6-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The smartphone will offer 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The smartphone will have a dual camera setup at the front, comprised of a 20MP module and an 8MP module.


Both Oppo F3 and F3 Plus will run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and have fast charging capabilities.


Last year, Oppo launched its A57 smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 14,990, the A57 features a 5.2-inch HD display of 720x1280 pixel resolution. It's powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. There's also 32GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards.


For imaging duties, the Oppo A57 has a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash. A 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture is also included in the mix.


Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Oppo's own Color OS 3.0 skin layer, the A57 weighs 147g. Having a metallic body, it comes in Rose Gold and Gold colour variants. There's also a fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button
