Misfit Vapor is an Android Wear 2.0 Powered Fitness Watch Priced at $199

MMisfit for the first time showcased it’s Android Wear 2.0 watches last year. The Misfit Vapor is a touch screen Android Wear Watch that comes packed with all the features that one would need. The Vapor offers built-in music, GPS, optical heart rate sensor and all of this comes at a rather affordable price point of $199. The Misfit Vapor will run on both Android and iOS devices and will start shipping later this summer.

The Misfit Vapor comes fitted with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display that offers 326ppi. Powering the watch is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor along with 4GB of onboard storage. The touch bezel lets users customize the menu on the watch face and also respond to notifications with a single tap. Since it runs on Android Wear 2 the Ok Google works in a more contextual manner.
On the sensor front, the watch is equipped with accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor and GPS. Misfit Vapor will bake in the usual array of fitness features including calories burnt, the rate for your runs and bike rides, heart rate for your run and all the other related data. The watch in itself looks elegant thanks to the 44mm satin-finished stainless steel upper casing which can be had in either Jet Black or Rose Gold. It’s also pretty evident from the design philosophy that the Misfit has been given a makeover by Fossil (Fitbit was acquired by Fossil)
Other highlights of the Misfit Vapor includes 50 meters of water resistance which is a rarity in Android Wear-powered watches. That said the Vapor still seems to be missing on the NFC which is playing a pivotal role in Android Pay. Misfit has also not yet revealed the battery specs. With the onset of Android Wear 2.0, the OEM’s are trying to add a standalone dimension to the smartwatches and eventually reduce their dependency on smartphones.
