Moto G5S Plus, launching in India on August 29



Motorola has announce that it will be launching the Moto G5S Plus and G5S in India on August 29. Motorola took the wraps off the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus earlier this month. Both smartphones are updated versions of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus which were announced back in February at MWC 2017 and come with bigger displays, improved cameras and an all metal design.
Motorola has also revealed that the Moto G5S Plus will be sold exclusively via Amazon India. A dedicated web page on Amazon India of the Moto G5S Plus has also cropped up  Interested users can sign up on the Amazon page in order to get notifications regarding the phone's launch and availability.
The Moto G5S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and 32/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. It is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz paired with 3/4GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower support. The smartphone runs on the Android Nougat operating system, much like the Moto G5 Plus.

On the camera front, the Moto G5S Plus comes a dual camera set up  at the rear which includes two 13-megapixel sensors placed horizontally with an aperture of f/2.0. Both cameras work together to offer features such as selective focus, background replacement and selective black and white colouring. On the front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel camera. The company claims that the rear dual cameras are also capable of shooting 4K videos.
The Moto G5S has a 5.2-inch fullHD display as compared to the 5-inch 1080p display on the Moto G5. It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz paired with 32GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card (of up to 128GB) and 3GB of RAM. The Moto G5S comes with a new 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus, an aperture of f/2.0 and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP wide-angle camera which also comes with an LED flash .
As per the pricing, the Moto G5S Plus was announced in Europe with a price tag of EUR 299, which roughly translates to Rs 22,700. While the price seems a bit steep, the Indian pricing is expected to be a bit lower. The smartphone was launched in two colour variants -- lunar grey and fine gold. Chances are that Motorola may bring both colours to India as well.
