Now whatsAPP user can used color text for status update

WhatsApp,  the most  chat app used  in the world, has announced a new feature.  on Tuesday noted that its users  now post status updates in colourful text, in a way somewhat similar to how they can do it on Facebook. Incidentally, Facebook owns WhatsApp. For the last one year or so WhatsApp is trying to position itself as a social media app and not just a chat app. It recently introduced Status tab in the app , which allows users to share photos with their contacts. These updates appear in the timeline for 24 hours after which the user must make the update again. Until now users could share only images in the Status tab but with today's announcement WhatsApp is also adding ability to share text based updates.
"Now you never have to worry about getting the word out to all your family and friends. Whether you're looking for vacation recommendations or notifying a group about the  party and address , the text-based status feature allows you to update your contacts in a fun and personal way. To customize text statuses, users can choose a specific font and background color, or include links," the company said in a press statement.
The feature is available for both Android and iOS users. Also, users can now view Status updates on WhatsApp for the web.To use the new feature, WhatsApp users will have to update the app on their phone to the latest version.
WhatsApp Status is a Snapchat's Stories like feature allowing user to share photos and now even texts with friends and family. The upload automatically gets removed after 24 hours.

User can also control the privacy of the Status. To do so, go to WhatsApp's privacy settings and there  you have the option to choose the people who will receive your update. There are following three options: "my contacts," "contacts except" and "only share with." Tap the eye icon at the bottom of any Status update to view a list of contacts who have seen your update. When you view someone's Status update, there is a reply button, so you can comment on any photo, video, or GIF. Once you tap reply, your message will be sent in a WhatsApp chat with a thumbnail of the Status update.

WhatsApp Recall button coming soon

WhatsApp's much-awaited Recall feature could soon be a reality. The feature was recently spotted on Windows phone for beta users. The recall or revoke button would allow users to delete the sent messages from both ends. Apparently, messages sent within a time frame of 3 or 5 minutes can only be revoked.
